Dr. LaSpisa received his Bachelors of Science from Loyola University
in 1980. He graduated from Loyola University, Chicago College of Dental
Surgery in 1984. He was the recipient of the American College of Stomatologic
Surgeons Award in 1984 and clinical honors in Oral surgery in 1983
and 1984.
Following dental school he continued his education at Foster G. McGaw
Hospital, Loyola University in a GPR (General Practice Residency).
He was accepted into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program
at Cook County Hospital. The next 41/2 years were spent at Cook County
Hospital, University of Illinois Hospital, West Side VA, and Michael
Reese Hospital. The last year he served as Chief Resident at each
hospital. Training included rotations in anesthesiology, general surgery,
internal medicine, plastic surgery, surgical intensive care, facial
trauma surgery and a wide scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery
including TMJ and dental implants.
Dr. LaSpisa has been in private practice since 1990.
Certifications include Basic Life support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support,
and Advanced Trauma Life Support.
Memberships include American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Illinois
Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Society of Dental
Anesthesiology, International College of Osteointegration, American
Academy of Implant Dentistry, American Dental Association, Chicago
Dental Society, Illinois Dental Society, American Trauma Society and
American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. LaSpisa has given multiple presentations and lectures through
his professional career and has been published in the Journal of Oral
and Maxillofacial Surgery. |
